In short: to log in to e-Albania, open the official portal e-albania.al, press Hyr (Log in), choose Qytetar (citizen), enter your NID and password, then the code you receive by SMS, email or authenticator app. With a foreign phone number the code arrives by email.
How do you log in to e-Albania, step by step?
- Open e-albania.al and press Hyr (Log in).
- Choose Qytetar (citizen).
- Enter your NID (personal number) and password.
- Enter the verification code within 120 seconds. It arrives by SMS, email or authenticator app. With "Provoni një mënyrë tjetër" (try another way) you can pick the method that suits you.
On your own phone or computer you can save the device as trusted, so you aren't always asked for the code. Only do this on your personal devices.
What is the NID and where do I find it?
The NID is your Albanian personal number: a letter, 8 digits and a letter. It is on your Albanian ID card or passport. Careful: it's the personal number, not the passport number.
The code doesn't arrive: what do I do?
- Foreign phone number? Since the 2024 changes, with a non-Albanian number the code arrives by email. Check your account's email.
- Check Spam or Promotions and wait a minute before requesting it again.
- Try another method: email or an authenticator app instead of SMS.
- Old email? Try to recover it with your email provider (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, etc.).
I forgot my password
On the login page press "Keni harruar fjalëkalimin tuaj?" (forgot your password?), enter your NID and follow the code you receive.
I no longer have the old email or the old number
In this case e-Albania has its own support channel: write to helpdesk@e-albania.al or use the portal's contact form and explain your situation.
Can I log in from my phone?
Yes. The portal opens in your phone's browser, and there is also an official e-Albania app for Android and iPhone.
