An Albanian work history certificate (vërtetim i vjetërsisë në punë) shows the years you worked and paid social insurance in Albania. You'll usually need it for an Albanian pension, and sometimes for an institution abroad that wants to know about your years in Albania.
The most common problem: years before 2012, and especially before the early 1990s, don't always show up straight away in the system. You need other documents, and you need to know where to ask.

How Albanian work history is recorded
- From 1 January 2012: contributions are in the electronic system. The certificate is generated on e-Albania straight away, with an electronic seal, free of charge.
- 1994 to 2011: ISSH issues certificates on e-Albania too, but they aren't instant: the request is reviewed first.
- Before 1993: under Law no. 7/2025, whose implementing rules came into force in 2025, years worked in state institutions, former state enterprises and agricultural cooperatives can be recognised for a pension. You choose this option in the pension application on e-Albania.

Frequently asked questions
I worked in a cooperative or a state enterprise before 1993. Does that count?
It can. Law no. 7/2025 allows those years to be recognised for a pension, and ISSH issues separate certificates for work in former state enterprises and cooperatives. We help you work out which documents your case needs.
I've lost my work booklet. What can I do?
